Culture, Religion & Technology, take II - It's a wrap!
Peter Thiel covers Christianity, faith, culture, politics, science and technology
It’s a wrap! The latest Culture, Religion & Technology event was held this past Tuesday, October 29 at Miami Dade College, attracting nearly 300 attendees. Francisco Gonzalez, Executive Director of the club emceed and organized the well-executed event.
The event was also sponsored and supported by Vator, Freedom Foundation, IronGate Capital Advisors, Voz Media, Miami Dade College, Folio, Miami DDA, and Mercantil Banco. I also want to thank Paul Martino, co-founder of Bullpen Capital and 8X founder, for introducing the Peter Thiel fireside, which was the main event.
For more than 90 minutes, Peter tried out new ideas with regards to the intersection of faith and technology and science and technology. He quoted scripture more than he had ever done before, referring to Daniel and Galatians. He even quipped that the verse Luke 18:25 in which Jesus says: “It’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God” gives him a bit of a scare.
“I'm not trying to redefine a rich man, but I'm a little bit nervous about that parable,” he said.
Given the election around the corner, he also shared his political views freely. One area he touched on was Argentina. So riveting was the conversation that Argentina President Javie Milei even shared the event on X.
Over the course of the next couple weeks, I’ll be writing out essays regarding his views. So stay tuned and share this with others, if they’re interested in getting the posts as they are published.
I will also be sharing the videos from the insightful panels that were held before the Fireside.
