We are living in surreal times with ideological warfare dividing the country.
Many people say we’re living in apocalyptic times. The New Yorker says “The climate apocalypse is coming” and we won’t be able to prevent it. There’s also the threat that AI will be a malevolent power that enslaves humanity. According to Foreign Policy magazine, a publication that says it questions commonplace views, climate change and out-of-control AI rank in its top 10 biggest concerns in 2024. Included in that list: a third nuclear era, Eurasian entente, an ongoing Israeli-Palestinian war, and Donald Trump - as a threat to democracy.
Yet one threat is missing: It’s a global totalitarian one-world order, one could say antiChrist, that appears to be the answer countering all of these so-called threats. Peter Thiel would say that we should not ignore the possibility of such a threat.
